A reminder that the grill closes at 1:00 Pm everyday which eliminates a lot of breakfast items. Panini sandwiches, salads, all pastries(while supplies last) and drinks will be served until the 2:30 PM closing time.
The Encounter Bakery is open for bulk sales of our wonderful pastries.
(You may call the bakery for bulk pastry orders but we do not accept call in orders for food from the Café)
We are truly blessed to have so many great friends out there that have chosen to support us at The Encounter Café. Your friendship means a great deal to us and we enjoy serving you
Our dining area is open! We are being very diligent with our sanitizing efforts making sure all contact surfaces are regularly cleaned.

We strive to use the "freshest" and mostly "locally grown or purchased" ingredients we can find.
The "Free Range"/"Cage Free" Eggs come from Farmer's Hen House of Kalona, IA.
The whole milk we use is from Country View Dairy, non-homogenized, located in West Union, IA.
Our organic lettuce comes from Rolling Hills hydroponic greenhouse, also from West Union, IA.
The coffee we brew is from fair trade beans roasted by Capanna's of North Liberty, IA

Our baked items are made from scratch. The Soft Pretzels are a signature item for us and are baked fresh each day. The Cinnamon Rolls are also a specialty item and are absolutely delicious. We have amazing muffins with some of the best tasting offerings this side of heaven . Chocolate chip cookies, are also available. Ask us to heat either of the baked items to give it a "fresh out of the oven" softness.

We hope you also encounter good food and some of our great hot drinks as well as some wonderful cold drinks. The Encounter Cafe exists for more than food and drink sales. We want to learn to know you and provide an atmosphere that is comfortable and peaceful. In other words, like good friends and family atmosphere.
